The Big South Conference
The Big South Conference is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the NCAA's Division I level. It was founded in 1983 as the South Carolina Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and was renamed in 1986. The Big South currently consists of 11 full members, including nine in the Carolinas, one in Virginia, and one in Tennessee. The conference sponsors 22 sports, and its members compete in the Football Championship Subdivision.

The following schools are the current members of the Big South Conference for the 2023 season: Campbell Fighting Camels, Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs, Hampton Pirates, High Point Panthers, Longwood Lancers, Presbyterian Blue Hose, Radford Highlanders, UNC Asheville Bulldogs, USC Upstate Spartans, Winthrop Eagles and Liberty Flames.
Campbell Fighting Camels
Campbell University is a private Christian university in Buies Creek, North Carolina. It is home to the Fighting Camels, the university's athletic teams. The Fighting Camels compete in the Big South Conference in all sports except football, which competes in the Pioneer Football League. The school's colors are orange and black and their mascot is Gaylord the Camel.
Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs
Gardner-Webb University is a private Christian university in Boiling Springs, North Carolina. It is home to the Runnin' Bulldogs, the university's athletic teams.
